“Open up your ears. Throw away the fear. Open up your eyes, you’ll find this place ain’t how it appears. Every thing that you’ve heard is a lie. Since you was five, they’re feeding your mind and Horus’s eye is leading the blind into their demise, they’re breathing to die… This is “The Matrix”. They designed it with hatred, and they want us in cages, yo, so in our brain they have placed it. Are you feeling enraged yet? While you sleep in the basement, it’s time to wake up and get prayed up, stop playing and living complacent.”

    [/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” text_font_size=”16px” global_colors_info=”{}”]

This is how Mike Maranatha begins one of the songs on he and Jayo the PariYah’s debut project Pray Against the Machine, an album inspired by Yah, focused on exposing the lies and darkness of this world.

In 2020, both Jayo and Mike were fed up with all of the deception that the world was selling to every one. Together, they decided to drop an album to counteract the plan’s of the enemy. There are very few things more powerful than music, afterall. Entire generations of people have been led astray by the manipulation of music through lyrics, repetitions, and frequencies for years, but we have reached a time where the Most High Yah is rising up musicians and artists of all kinds to fight this spiritual combat through the power of song.

    Introducing Jayo the PariYah

“I go by Jayo the PariYah. PariYah means ‘Outcast’. And most of my life, I’ve always been a black sheep, ever since I was young. And so I just kind of rock with that.”

Jayo the PariYah, also known as ‘Jayo’ grew up a problem child. He was always getting into trouble somehow or another, and as a youth spent quite some time on and off of probation and in jail. To the young Jayo, ‘God’ wasn’t real, and he had no desire to live his life for Him. The New Age Movement and dark arts, however, caught his attention, and he followed the false path towards ‘enlightenment’ for a while. Eventually, he started asking deeper questions and searching for more, although he wasn’t sure quite what that looked like yet.

In January of 2012, the young PariYah had hit his rock bottom. He was now homeless and hopeless. He sought after true peace- not the false peace that the world preaches, the ‘love and light’, passive, ‘money can by your happiness’ kind of peace- but true peace. Jayo was desperately searching for shalom. It was then that he would begin to turn towards the Most High, and a desire to follow the Messiah would begin to kindle in his heart. When he first began going to church, it happened to be through an uncle who studied as a Messianic, and even followed a seventh day sabbath. Despite this, Jayo ultimately ended up leaning towards mainstream Christianity for several years before beginning to get to really know the Most High Yahuah in 2018. He read Psalm 119 and started to see the importance of following the commandments and keeping the feast days found in Leviticus 23. He now spends some of his spare time doing street ministry and outreach to the lost.

“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.”
    1 John 2:3

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.”

    -Psalm 119:9

From Rap Battles to Spiritual Battles

For most of his life, Jayo has always had an ability to rap and freestyle. What would eventually be recognized as a gift from the Most High, began as high school party entertainment. Friends and peers would push him to ‘show off’ his skills for everyone, and then the pressure was on. Somewhere deep inside, he knew this was all a facade- these people didn’t really care about him and the words he were speaking were words of sin and death.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
    -Proverbs 18:21

In 2012, Jayo began writing raps just as poetry. It wasn’t until eight years later that he would realize the potential that this skillset could bring towards the work of The Kingdom. Together with Mike Maranatha, another talented truther-rapper and fellow brother, they would begin to use their platforms and lyrics to overcome darkness, shining light on many various topics labeled as ‘conspiracies’. In their song “The Natsarim” alone, months worth of intensive research is shared in just a few short minutes. For the upcoming generation especially, there is an opportunity for a huge impact to be made. From the history of the Roman Catholic Church to the planned epidemic of 2020, Jayo and Mike are exposing it all.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”
    -Ephesians 5:11

    The Logo: Controversial, Yet Powerful

You may have already noticed and even raised an eyebrow at Jayo the PariYah’s logo, which displays an all-seeing eye with a stake driven right through the center of it. Don’t let the shock factor of this bold imagery form your opinion without listening to the accompanied lyrics, though.  The inspiration behind the design is explained by Jayo as,

“I wanted to show a stake driven through the all-seeing eye- because we overcome darkness by the power of the crucifixion and resurrection.”

He hopes that this is a succesful way to lure people in, and then present them with the truth.

    Future Projects

It’s been three years now since Pray Against the Machine dropped, and the anticipation for the next album is building more and more. Between buying studio equipment and having a new baby, Jayo has had a few hang-ups with creating new music. That is soon to change, however, as he and Bobby Thornz are currently in the process of recording a new album, titled Remnant Filez. The first single from this project is out now: “In the Ru” (Ruach/Spirit)- available on all streaming platforms. We pray that this is a blessing for and speaks to the lives of many!

Jayo the PariYah and Mike Maranatha, accompanied by rapper Just Jacob, will be performing at HebrewFest 2023 in Galena, Missouri on Sunday, July 9th at 3 p.m.

    Tickets are available now!

  • LORVINS – HebrewFest 2023 Artist Highlight

Steady in his efforts and quiet in his approach, Tampa, Fla-based producer Lorvins Lormeus was one of yesterday’s most quiet talents in urban music. The tide has now turned as Lorvins has embarked on a new phenomenon called “Truth Music”- a style of music that reveals the Hidden World by lifting a Spiritual Veil. You can call it a spiritual awakening.
“I really don’t have a genre that I fall into,” Lorvins explains. “Music is an extension of my senses.”
Born in Freeport, Bahamas, those senses were instilled in Lorvins for as long as he’s been alive. He started singing in church at an early age. Lorvins started to formally groom his singing abilities at Dillard High School. Lorvins participated in a special program with the Ashanti Cultural Arts program and he was awarded
the opportunity to perform for the Lexus Corporation on the televised ABC Network. After high school, he landed a full music scholarship to Bethune Cookman College in Daytona. There, he became a member of the internationally acclaimed Concert Chorale, directed by the legendary Dr. Rebecca Steele. Additionally, he was coached under the tutelage of
    world-renowned opera singer Curtis Rayam.

Because of his formal training, he has been well received for performing various genres jazz, opera, classical, Negro spirituals, gospel and mainstream music. Over time, versatility would become the niche to define the style that Lorvins would now be known for.

“Having a formal, musically trained background makes me appreciate and respect all styles of music from classical to HipHop,” says Lorvins.

During his educational journey through college, he started to gain an appreciation for rap and R&B. He quickly fell in love with the different sounds within the two genres and would spend late nights at rehearsal halls improvising popular songs on the piano and with his vocals. Lorvins is unique despite his creative abilities. Most importantly he has a heart of pure gold.
